House Blend 1 Kilo

Processing: Varied  Roasters Notes: Great for espresso and milk drinks, milk chocolate body with dried fruit, lemon and winter spice notes.

The House Blend is currently made up of three coffees from Nicaragua, India and Ethiopia.

From Nicaragua we have an old favourite, El Quetzal, a fully washed mix of Caturra, Catuai and Catimor beans from the Matagalpa region. Roberto Bendano’s farm borders the El Arenal National Park, a corridor of land set aside to protect the Quetzal bird from which the farm takes its name. In the cup this years Quetzal is outstanding, full bodied with a long sweet finish and dried fruit flavours. From India we have a new A grade bean from the Sarathay Coffee Curing Works in Chikkamagaluru in the South Eastern state of Karnataka. The bean gives a classic Indian chocolate body but is noticeably lighter and sweeter than previous lots we have had from the area. From Ethiopia we have a great washed Sidamo. All coffee exports are centralised through the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange and exact farm information is impossible to procure so this lot has been selected on the basis of its exceptional cup profile with classic lemon and spice flavours.
